I’m stressing about this mother-daughter trip I’m trying to plan. I want it to be special but feel like I’m going in circles. Michigan seems like a great idea, but I don’t know where to go. My mom’s not big on fancy stuff, but she also doesn’t want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. I want it to be fun but not too busy, and I feel like if I pick the wrong place, it’ll ruin the whole vibe. I need something in between.

You know what? I went through something similar a while back, and instead of picking a big, busy destination, I just took my mom to Charlevoix. It was chill—nothing too touristy or crowded, but still enough charm to entertain us. We just walked by the water, checked out some small boutiques, and relaxed. Honestly, the best part was not worrying about plans and enjoying each other's company in a quiet place. Sometimes, that's all you need!
I was in the same situation! I ended up taking my mom to Mackinac Island, which was such a hit. There are no cars, so it’s peaceful, but you’ve still got enough going on with cute shops, bike rides, and historic tours. We spent most of the time just enjoying the slower pace, but there was still plenty to see and do. I think your mom would love it. Plus, there are a lot of other great places for weekend getaways in michigan if you’re still undecided.
